My parents were missionaries in Morocco when I was a boy and we always had Moroccan leather goods around the house. One thing is certain, real leather from the country of Morocco has a feel and smell that is unmistakable. Is it actually goatskin? That wouldn't surprise me (not like it would if I were to learn it was pigskin!) Whatever it is it's beautiful and easily hand tooled.
After a bit of research I have learned that my Bible, which is covered in "Italian Duo-Tone," is actually imitation in everything but appearance. Would I like to have it covered in Moroccan leather? Absolutely, though that deerskin looks pretty nice as well.

John, the grain on this goatskin isn't a linear grain at all, but more of a tight grain. The chocolate is especially nice on a large study Bible -- thick, glossy and "yummy"!

I love the new website look. And I especially like the fact that you offer the "Highland Goatskin". I love the feel of the Premium Calfskin on my ESV Study Bible. Is that similar? I want the same feel and flexibility on my smaller KJV Reference that I've been using for years. It has a "Premium Leather-look" cover on it that is bent and creased all kinds of ways.

I think we can work that out, Josh! Maybe you can be the first, and we can feature your Bible's portrait here. :-) (I thought dark brown sounded like something people would want!)

~Margie

I have been waiting to see what colors you have before sending a Bible for rebinding. I'm interested in the medium brown, but would be very interested in a dark brown.

Not really important, but since we're talking honesty & transparency, here..."Buffalo" is not a misnomer for "hot" when talking about Buffalo wings. The spicy sauce originated in Buffalo, NY, hence the name, "Buffalo" wings. :o)

A Hoosier transplant in Upstate NY

The case against flexible Bibles was stated so clearly it does make sense. I always enjoyed the ability to have the Bible lay open on page one of Genesis, the 150th Psalm and the end of Revelation without closing up. However, come to think of it, a floppy Bible would cause some problems for preaching. Excellent post.

Hi, Michael! Thanks for the suggestions! We just posted again and hope to do some more. (Got a little busy during Christmas rush / tax rush. It's hard to pin Eric down long enough for a video, though I try. :-P There are of course, some trade secrets, but there are other things I think we could share. Stay tuned. Ya' never know when we might be able to add something more to the mix.

~Margie
