I am a long-time Wizard of Oz collector, with books being my specialty. Many years ago, I picked up some first edition Oz books from the early 1900s that were a little worse for wear; however, the price was unbeatable and I promised myself I'd get them restored someday. After putting it off for nearly a decade, I finally decided to get the work done. After reading the reviews for book repair shops over the Midwest, I decided that Leonard's would be my best and most confident bet. Having my book back in hand (after only about two months in the midst of a pandemic I might add), I'm a little mad at myself for waiting so long. My first edition copy of "The Marvelous Land of Oz" from 1904 is like a whole other book! Where it once was loose with pages spilling out, it's now tight, sturdy, and entirely intact. They also managed to get some stickers off the backs of pages that had been there for who knows how long! I plan to send in some of my other Oz books needing restoration shortly and, eventually, my great great grandmother's family bible from the 1870s! If you are on the fence, don't be. The work is fantastic and the prices are unbeatable. Leonard's has a very honest and reliable team.
